We went up to Philadelphia Tuesday… got an early start… and spent the entire day on the road.  But that didn’t mean the Raw Eating went out the door… I did start with Starbucks Pumpkin Spiced Latte with Soy, which I didn’t finish. And I had a couple morsels of the Apple Bran Muffin I bought for Mike.

But, I turned all that morning calories into something healthier for lunch. We did manage to find a Whole Foods Grocery Store, where both Mike and I indulged on a great green lunch. I had a Green Salad loaded up with Bell Peppers, Red Onions, Raisins and Oil & Vinegar Dressing. Plus, I saw an Asparagus and Sun dried Tomatoes Salad and a Cucumber and Tomato Salad, which I loaded into a small Togo box.  Both of my boxes came up to a pound at the register, because I paid less then the $7.99/lb. price for the Salad Bar.

Too tired to go home and make something for dinner…. Mike suggested we go out. So I picked the restaurant Wildfire in the Tyson’s Two Shopping Center. Where, I did have two Glasses of Kendall Jackson Riesling. For dinner, I had a Waldorf salad with an Oil & Vinegar Dressing and a Baked Potato. I did munch on a couple bites of Onion Bread. But I kept my restraint for the Chocolate Cake with Ice Cream that Mike ordered for dessert. I was so proud of myself for not even taking a bite; I had my glass of wine to keep me company. 🙂

For the most part, I think I did really good and I felt good afterwards.

It’s not Christmas as I remember as a child…. I’m in a foreign city (Potomac, MD) with no family and friends. The stockings aren’t hung from the fireplace… and no presents under the non existant Christmas Tree. Mike is Jewish, so he doesn’t celebrate Christmas.:( And so now, I guess I don’t either. But I still plan on going to Midnight(10pm) mass at the National Cathedral in D.C. and then going to morning mass as well.

I also wanted to drive to New York City for the day and maybe hit Serendipity, walk around the Plaza, or eat at the restaurant in the Crysler Building or even catch a midday show?!?!?! But I think Mike has really put the brakes on that idea.

Boy he’s sounding alot like the Christmas Grinch!!!!!

My back is still not 100%… I have more mobility than Sunday, but there’s still pain. So I’m taking it Very Slow!!!!

I did head out this morning for a Tall Starbucks Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte w/Soy and then I stopped off at the French Bakery for a Carrot & Zucchini Muffin, Bran Muff, and a Butter Croissant. I thought I’d start the day off with some sweets for a sour Mike. I ate the Carrot & Zucchini Muffin… it was delicious. Yum!!!! Yum!!!! Yum!!!!

P.S…. I did weigh myself Yesterday Morning and gained back 2lbs… I guess those treats and not working out have made their impact.!!!!:(

Last night Mike’s son and I made Fried Asparagus!.

I took out the Asparagus from the refrigerator thinking I would Roast it in the oven with some Olive Oil and seasoning… but Mike wanted it Fried.
A little perplexed, I said O.K. and his son chimed in, where’s the flour?. He said, we can use the flour to coat the Asparagus and put it in the oil to fry.

I went one step further and I added some Paprika, Garlic Powder, Onion Flakes to the Flour. Then I cracked a couple of Eggs, added milk and started dipping the Asparagus in the Egg mix and then roled it around in the Flour and placed it in the hot Oil. His son was in charge of frying the Asparagus and taking it out of the pan when it was ready.

Amazingly enough, it turned out great… and I ate about 5 or 6 of the Asparagus pieces.. Not the only bad thing I did yesterday.

I also went to the Starbucks again, and got my Pumpkin Spiced Iced Latte with Soy. I didn’t take my Barley Max, but I did drink two glassed of Carrot Juice from Bolthouse.

Then after I went to the local grocery store, to pick up missing vegetables and extras, I made a Green Salad.
I ate my Green Salad for both Lunch and then Dinner with the Fried Asparagus.
