We got up early… Monday morning and started getting ready for our journey back down to Florida. I showered and packed up the rest of my bathroom supplies and headed downstairs to make my juice for my Mid Morning and Mid Afternoon drinks.

Breakfast was a 1tsp of Barley Max Powder mixed with 4-8oz of Distilled Water. And that was it for the Barley Max.!!!

And we hit the road at 7:30am… it was much later than we wanted to be leave, but Mike didn’t get up any earlier so that’s when we left.

Here’s where it all went to pot… at dinner. We just pulled off the interstate at our exit in Palm Coast and we decided to go to Wendy’s. I didn’t want to cook anything and they have a really great $1 menu. I ordered a Garden Salad, Baked Potato and a Fish Filet Sandwich.!!!

I know, but I had this really strong craving for the sandwich. It seems these days, I get really strong cravings for food and I can’t say no. It’s like I haven’t eaten in so long, it feels like my stomach is going to come out of my body and take over. I feel so ravaged by hunger, I eat anything and everything that’s not good for me.!! I don’t know how to cure this, but with little healthy snacks throughout the day?!?!

After my pilates class Saturday morning… we decided to go on a road trip to Northern Maryland and the West Virginia boarder to The Bovarian Inn.

Before we left, I drank my 1tsp of Barley Max Powder mixed with 4-8oz Distilled Water  for breakfast… and noticed the container was getting very low. I had placed a new order on Friday, but I don’t think I’ll be able to wait until Tuesday when I get a new shipment. 😦

I made an 8oz Juice of Carrot, Spinach, Celery for my Mid Morning Juice that I’d be drinking on the road.

30 Minutes Before Lunch 1tsp of Barley Max Powder mixed with 4-8oz Distilled Water.

Lunch was Apples until I was Satisfied… Lunch took place on the road while we were driving to West Virginia.

We finally got to the Bovarian Inn along the Potomac River boarder of West Virginia and Maryland. It’s a beautiful place to go just for the scenery alone and then the food, well it’s a Bovarian Eastern European Fare. The dining room had an old-dated european influence, but the view out of their big picture windows make up for the decor inside. 

I wanted to obstain from eating another lunch, but I had a hard time. Afterall, I was still a little hungry and my stomach was feeling empty. So I ordered a Vegetable Sandwich with Fried, Zucchini and Carrots. It was a nice lite  addition to my earlier lunch in the car.

Then we walked around and enjoyed the scenery of the mountains, the river below and each other. We took out sight seeing down into the middle of town where all the shops and people were bustling, but then it started to rain. We made it into the car before it started pouring down hard… and continued on back home.

I made my own Vegetable Sandwich with Whole Wheat Bread and Hummus and snacked on some Pita Chips with Hummus too.

If you haven’t noticed already, I’m taking a break from the book on this Hallelujah Acres 14 Day Eating Plan and incorporating my own stuff into it.. and maybe this will make a difference as well.

After an early morning wake up call Thursday, I didn’t have a problem getting up for my 8am Pilates Class. It was a but kicker as well. I need to get in all the classes I can because Monday, we’re driving back down to Florida where they don’t have these reformer pilates classes. The gym I joined there only has the matte pilates classes. 😦

So I took my 1tsp of Barley Max Powder mixed with 4-8oz of Distilled Water for Breakfast.

Now, I’m drinking my Mid Morning 8oz Juice of Celery, Carrot, Apple

30 minutes before lunch, 1tsp Barley Max Powder mixed with 4-8oz of Distilled Water.

Lunch will be Apples until I’m satisfied!!!

Plus I did some snacking on Stacy’s Pita Chips with Hummus.

We drove to Alexandria for  a farewell meal at Mike’s favorite restaurant, the Chart House. It was a lovely evening, cooling down from the 80 degree temps from the day. Everyone was out with their kids in the park, people were walking dogs, it was just a great night for a slow strole and a nice dinner by the water.  When we got into the restaurant, we had to wait 30 minutes for a table so I indulged in a Bombay Sapphire and Tonic and we ordered an appetizer of Shrimp Cocktail. For the main meal, we were seated outside on the patio while the sun was still up, and by the time I ate my  Chopped Salad, it was dark.

We got up at 5am to get ready and out the door by 7:15am this morning, because I was going on the school field trip to Gettysburg Pennsylvania with 450 middle school kids from Potomac, Maryland.

This was a class field trip for Mikes son, so needless to say, I missed my pilates. But not to worry, I was going to be walking and hiking parts of the battle field, so I wasn’t worried.

So I packed a bag of my Fresh 8oz Juice of Carrot, Spinach, Celery for my Mid Morning Juice. Which I got to during a trip through the museum, where the kids had to fill out there packet of questions for a grade. FUN!!!!

Then we all got back on the tour bus for lunch…

30 Minutes before Lunch, I prepared a 1tsp of Barley Max Powder in a plastic bag and dropped it into my water bottle. Made a bit of a mess with it though, and not sure if I got the entire tsp. in there. 😦

Lunch was a couple of apples and some trail mix I mixed together with a hand full of Organic Cranberries, Organic Raisins and a Flaxseed Mix.

Then we stayed on the bus and went for our actual battlefield tour of Gettysburg. That’s were we drove into the town of Gettysburg and into the many battlefield  grounds. This was exciting, because we got out and toured some of the grounds and got the 411 on how these 3 days in July played out!

At 3pm, I was ready to go home and luckily that’s when our field trip ended and we started our 11/2 hour bus ride back home. When we got to the school, we had to wait for Mike to pick us up and he ended up getting lost, because it was the high school down the street from our morning drop off at the middle school.  So we started walking to the middle school when we saw Mike coming to pick us up.

When we got home, I made my Mid Afternoon 8oz Juice of Carrot, Celery, Spinach.

30minutes before we went to dinner 1tsp of Barley Max Powder with 4-8oz of Distilled Water.

Dinner was at Wildfire Restaurant where I had the Greek Salad with a Vinaigrette Dressing and some Roasted Vegetables.  I did also manage to stay away from the White Wine with dinner!!!

I woke up this morning and headed out to my Pilates Class for a 30 minute work out! And boy was it ever a workout.  Who knew a 30 minute jump board class would be so intense.

And as I was doing the class, I thought to myself that I should get back on the eating plan. Because if you look at the calendar, my birthday is exactly 14 days away.

This morning, I stepped on the scale and noticed I was at 162lbs. My goal weight though, is 144lbs. So that means I have to lose 16lbs in 14 days to be able to reach my goal.

And drinking this Juice is difficult, because I have those donuts lingering in the kitchen still. And my stomach is rumbling so hard… it seems like it got used to eating all that crap yesterday.!

In an effort to get the donuts out of the house without eating them all, I have decided to hand the donuts out tomorrow morning to a bunch of middle school students. I decided to Chaperone a Field Trip to Gettysburg  with Mikes 14 year old’s school.

Lunch will be either Apples until satisfied or Strawberries until satisfied. (This was my hopes, but I actually had the two leftover pieces of cheese pizza for lunch!)

Three days later, and I’m still in leg pain from Tuesdays Pilates Workout. But that didn’t stop me from going to the Pilates Studio. As eractic as my eating’s been , I need the added workout to keep feeling like I’m staying in shape.

I’ve grown a little bolder with what I am eating, in part because I’m doing my Pilates 4 to 5 days a week. I’ve noticed a lot of muscle definition and losing inches in my waist, thighs and arms. Looking in the mirror I’m noticing my fat pockets getting tighter, more bone definition and sleeker lines. It’s invigorating and also giving me the confident attitude to eat some of those bad foods too. In part because, I’ve gained a ravaging appetite from my dedicated weekly workouts and newly implemented strict eating.!!!!

For example, this afternoon Mike and I went to WholeFoods Grocery Store and  I felt a little entitled to pick up some Vanilla Lemon Whoopie Pie Cakes. First ingredient on the label was SUGAR!!!!

Before I even got so incredibly hungry I managed to keep my appetite in check through my Breakfast of 1Tsp of Barley Max Powder mixed with 4-8oz Distilled Water.

30 Minutes before lunch I managed to pack my 1Tsp of Barley Max Powder mixed with 4-8oz of Distilled Water and drank it on the road. Because for lunch, Mike got a taste for Persian Food so we went to the local Moby Dick Restaurant for Kabobs. I indulged in a Greek Salad with Grilled Swordfish.

Ingredients:

Iceberg Lettuce

Red Onion

Grilled Yellow Onion

Grilled Tomato

Olives

Later in the day, I missed my traditional 8oz Juice and traded it with a Berry Smoothie from Robeks Fruit Smoothie Shop. I asked for no sugar, powders or yogurt in mine. Unfortunately, the fruits were frozen in a juice so it’s not totally 100% Natural or Raw, more like 80 to 90% Natural or Raw.!

30 Minutes before dinner I mixed 1Tsp of Barley Max Powder with 4-8oz of Distilled Water.

Dinner was actually left overs from the night before of the Loaded Cucumber & Tomato Salad.

I hit the Pilates Studio Wednesday morning…. feeling the pain from the morning before. Boy, Cyndi our instructor really gave us(me) a leg workout Tuesday. I think it was a combination of not doing Pilates from Friday to Monday and also putting a little more attention on the legs Tuesday. It really made climbing the stairs this week a bit more difficult.

But anyway, I got home from the Jump Board 45minute workout and started fixing my Breakfast  of 1Tsp of Barley Max Powder with 4-8oz of Distilled Water.

Then I mixed my Mid Morning 8oz Juice of Carrot, Celery, Spinach. I’ve become partial to this mix of vegetables.. and when I have the fresh Parsley I will add it too!!

30 minutes before Lunch I mixed 1Tsp of Barley Max Powder with 4-8oz of Distilled Water.

And prepared something I picked up from my girlfriend on my trip to New York. She made me a sandwich with Cucumbers, Tomatoes, and Red Onions one afternoon and it tasted so good, I recreated the meal.

Vegetable Sandwich on Whole Wheat:

Ingredients:

1Cucumber

1Tomato

1/2Red Onion

2-4 Slices of Whole Grain Wheat Bread

Directions: Wash and slice cucumbers, red onions and tomatoes. Slice Bread and layer ingredients and top with slice of bread.

I was feeling  a little rushed and knew I picked up a Bolthouse Farms Juice at the market the other day and decided to implement that in my day. So, for my Mid Afternoon 8oz Juice I used the Bolthouse Farms Vedge Juice which is 10 different vegetables mixed together. It kinda tastes like a V8 cocktail mix.

30minutes before dinner I mixed 1Tsp of Barley Max Powder with 4-8oz of Distilled Water. And afterwards I started on my meal. I decided to keep it light for dinner with a Loaded Cucumber & Tomato Salad:

Ingredients:

3Cucumbers

1/2Red Onion

1Yellow Bell Pepper

1Tomato

Corriander

Parsley

Paprika

Dried Onion Flakes

Garlic Powder

2Tbps Olive Oil

Directions: Wash, peel  and chop vegetables. Mix into bowl and add olive oil and season to taste.

This morning I was so excited because I actually had a chance to go to Pilates at 7am. Before hand, I made it a point to wake up early and make another Fruit Smoothie. I did so, because  I actually promised Mikes son I would make him Fruit Smoothies for breakfast every morning before school, and today it started!!!!

The bonus in this cenario, I had enough left over for a glass for myself. So, for Breakfast I drank my 1tsp Barley Max Powder with 3-8oz glass Distilled Water and went off to my Pilates class, Fruit Smoothie in tow.

Ingredients:

Handful of Grapes

1/4Banana

1/4Apple

1Cup Pineapple

1Cup Watermelon

1tsp Lime Juice

2Tbls Agave Nectar

2Cups Ice

Directions: Add all ingredients in order into Vita Mix. Turn power on and move speed slowly to 10 and switch to variable II and blend until your desired consistancy. 

That was a nice cool drink after my Pilates Workout!!!!

Now I’m enjoying my Mid Morning 8oz Juice of Carrot, Celery, Cucumber Juice.

In between my Juice and Smoothie, I’ve been snacking on these Garden Herb Triscuits.

I didn’t get to go to Pilates this morning, because Mike needed the car for business. So instead, I got ready and weighed myself and I registered at 162lbs.

I think that was good, for all the deviations I took from the eating plan. I was actually expecting to be heavier… but I will take 162lbs. So over all, I lost 10lbs in the 14 days of eating the foods prescribed in the Hallelujah Acres 14 Day Menu Plan.

Already this morning I did have my Breakfast of 1Tsp Barley Max Powder with 4-8oz glass of distilled water.

Lunch is still open for discussion. It turns out, we went to Olive Garden for lunch and I ordered the Soup & Salad. For the Soup I had the Minestrone. But I indulged so much on the salad, I was fool and couldn’t even get to the soup. So I brought that home.

We didn’t get home until late, so I wasn’t able to do my Mid Afternoon Juice nor the 1Tsp of Barley Max Powder with 4-8oz glass of Distilled Water.

I actually forgot to do that before we left again(I was so tired and hungry I didn’t want to make anything.!) for dinner. We stopped off at the Chicken Out place up the street at the Potomac Village where I had a Vegetable Salad Wrap. It was a solid Raw meal, except for the dressing they used. It was a Creamy Honey Mustard. I didn’t even know you were given a dressing or for that matter I wasn’t even asked what kind I wanted..!!! Sooooooo. Anyway!

 Then Mike also ordered a Baked Sweet Potato and a Regular Baked Potato and I had some of each too. After we came home I did make the Barley Max and drank it after dinner. But before the Fruit Smoothie I made.

Ingredients:

Handfull of Grapes

1Cup of Pineapple, Chopped

1/4 Apple

1Cup of Watermelon

1/4 Banana

1Tsp Lime Juice

2Cups Ice

2Tbps. Agave Nectar

Directions: Add ingredients in order, Turn Vita Mix on and move speed to 10 and then switch variable to II until you get the desired consistancy.

Instead of my Pilates Class… I got up early and went to the National Cathedral for mass.

Every Sunday is a good day when I go to mass… so therefore, my eating plan was spot on!

I prepared my lunch to go. Because we decided to go to a festival and spend some time out in the beautiful weather Sunday. So I bagged the Sticks and pre-made the Mid Afternoon Juice and had my barley max on the go to. We came home for dinner. Where I managed to make my meal. I did however, munch on unleavened bread. More than I should have, but it tasted so good!!

Asparagus Salad:

Ingredients:

2lbs Asparagus

3Medium Tomatoes

1Stalk Bok Choy

1Bunch Spinach Lettuce

2Stalks Celery

1Red Bell Pepper

Directions: Wash and dry vegetables, place lettuce in bowl, add asparagus, which should be cut into bite-size pieces. Add chopped tomatoes, diced bok choy stalk, celery and red peppers. Toss to combine. A raw dressing can be made by removing 1/3 of salad and placing in blender, and blend until creamy. Sprinkle with grated almonds.

Better Than Tuna:

Ingredients:

2Cups Carrots

1Medium Ripe Bell Pepper

1Tomato

2Stalks Celery

1/2Medium Red Onion

1/2Cup Parsley

1/2Tsp Kelp

1/2tsp Celtic Salt

4Tbsp Rhonda’s No-Oil Dressing

Directions: Finely chop the pepper, celery, onion and tomato, and place in a bowl. Finely grate carrots, resembling carrot pulp, and add the carrot to the vegetable mixture. Combine 4Tbsp of Rhonda’s Dressing, Celtic salt, parsley and kelp and add to the above chopped vegetables. Mix well and allow to marinate for flavors to blend. May be served on a bed of lettuce, on a sandwich or to stuff a pita or tomato.

Rhonda’s No-Oil Dressing:

1Cup Raw Almonds

1Cup Distilled Water

Pour water on almonds and let soak overnight. Place almonds in vita mix or blender with 1 cup distilled water and blend about 2 minutes until creamy and add:

2Tsp Nutritional Yeast Flakes

1Tsp Kelp

2Tsp Lemon Juice

1/4Tsp Celtic Salt

1Tsp Herb Seasoning

1Tbsp Minced Parsley

2Tsp Garlic Powder

2Tbsp Dried Onion Flakes

1Tsp Dill Weed

Pinch of Cayenne Pepper

1Tbsp Raw Unfiltered Honey

OR 1 1/2Tbsp Chopped Dates

Directions: Blend to mix and pour over vegetables and serve.
