In the last week… we’ve been on the move going up to Jacksonville (Friday) to check out the new Bahama Breeze Restaurant. But instead we walked across the street to Wasabi Japanese Steakhouse for a much shorter wait of 5 minutes vs 2 hours they quoted at Bahama Breeze.

We had our usual Hibachi Shrimp, Steak and Vegetables. Of course I had the rice made with no eggs, and only ate the vegetables. Before hand I ordered a Seaweed Salad and no Sake. Can you believe it.!!! Usually I have two little decanters of the Rice Wine.

Saturday we headed west to Sarasota with a stop at Bahama Breeze in Orlando.

It had been a while since we went to the Columbia Restaurant in Sarasota… it’s a favorite there on St. Armand Key.

Crisp iceberg lettuce with julienne of baked ham, natural Swiss cheese, tomato, olives, grated Romano cheese and our famous garlic dressing (our 100 year old family recipe of fresh garlic, oregano, wine vinegar and Spanish extra virgin olive oil).”

Then Mike ordered a Vegetarian Dish with Steamed Veggies and Plantains.. He Shared with me.!!!

To start the week… I had lunch with a girlfriend of mine and ordered a delicious Green Salad with Scallops and we drank 3 glasses of White Wine… Needless to say I was feeling real good for our evening comedy show date with another group of friends.

Wendy's Cod Sandwich

Wendy's Cod Sandwich

We didn’t eat dinner because the show started so early (7:30pm) so Mike and I pulled into Wendy’s and ordered two Fish Fillet Sandwiches… the fish was Cod and oh so good.

As you can tell I had a lot of fish in one day… because I’ve made the decision to  incorporate fish into the diet. I actually miss eating fish and will eat occasionally!!

For meals… Mike and I made:

I think there has been a turning point for me this week….in the way I am approaching food.  In the last couple of months, I’ve been struggling with my eating, how much I’m eating, what I’m eating and how it’s affecting my body and weight. So I think I’ve been able to muster some self-control.

One thing that’s really been a great help… is the Pilates. Regularly, I’m attending classes in the morning and it’s definitely making a difference. I’ve noticed more definition in my arms, legs, and even in my stomach. Which is great, because I have a wedding to go to this weekend and that’s going to make a difference.

Today (Friday), as I’ve been doing since we’ve been here in Potomac, M.D., I juiced some carrot, celery, apple and this time through in some Spinach. I read yesterday, that you get a lot of protein from Spinach and thought I was neglecting the green leafy food, so I threw it in the mix.

I was dropped off at the mall, while Mike had some meetings. While I was there, I got really hungry and Mike didn’t pick me up until after 3pm.

Cinnamon Dolce Frapuccino

So, my defenses were compromised and I ordered a Starbucks Grande Cinnamon Dolce Frapuccino.   The only saving grace for that miscalculation was Mike drank half of it!!!Veggie Spring RollBuddha Rice Bowl

Then since neither one of us had lunch; we stopped into P.F. Changes for a late lunch/early dinner. I had two Spring Rolls, Buddha Rice Bowl with Brown Rice and a Glass of Riesling.

NO ICE CREAM FOR DESSERT ALL WEEK!!!

Infact, I’ve been having some pretty healthy and substantial meals while eating out this week. Last night we went to Olive Garden and I had the Minestrone Soup and Salad.

Minestrone Soup I did devour one Bread Stick and drank a Glass of White Wine. Then we went to a place called Moby Dick where I had a great tasting Veggie Wrap with Mushrooms, Alfalfa Sprouts, Onions, and Tomatoes on White Flat Bread.Mody Dick Veggie Wrap

Then we went to a Restaurant called Wildfire in the Tyson’s Mall for drinks, which turned into dinner. I did order 2 Glasses of White Wine and a Greek Salad after which I had some of Mike’s Cod Fish, Baked Potato and Asparagus.

I HAVE NOTICED I’VE BEEN INDULGING IN WHITE WINE MORE THESE DAYS!!!!

We left before dawn from Florida on our way to Potomac, Maryland Friday morning. Luckily I Juiced my Carrots, Celery, Apples, and Beets Thursday night, because all I was good for this morning was to get ready, go and sleep in the car.

Just outside of Jacksonville, in Georgia we stopped so Mike can walk, wakeup, and get something to eat. He got me a Hash brown from McDonald’s which I devoured and then closed my eyes again until South Carolina.

We stopped to get gas, and that’s where I asked Mike to Stop for Wendy’s, where I got a Side Salad and Baked Potato. I ate that for lunch and then shortly thereafter, I took over driving. We did really well on time, only stopped for gas and for Mike to stretch his legs a little. One of those stretches, I found myself in line at the Dairy Queen for a Turtle Blizzard. I just had such a horrible craving for something sweet, and Dairy Queen was staring me in the face.! I also got some Chex Mix to munch on too.

Then around 6:30pm we arrived at the house here in Potomac and unloaded the car and settled in. I was hungry, so I had a little bit of the Lentil Soup I made before we left and some Hummus and Whole Wheat Bread. Both of those tasted a bit tart…. and that was the end of my eating. We settled down from the drive and hit the hay pretty early.
